Terms Of Use
Welcome to YAMH, You Are My Hero. These terms are here so everyone who writes, reads or is thanked on YAMH can trust it. By using the site, you agree to them.
Who We Are
YAMH is part of Lamoureux Lane, based in Victoria, Australia. YAMH™ and You Are My Hero™, the look of the site, its rings and pearl, and the words written for it are the property of Lamoureux Lane, and may not be reproduced without written permission.
Writing A Thank-You
When you write a thank-you on YAMH, you are telling the world something true and kind about a real person. So we ask that every thank-you:
- is true, and written in your own words;
- uses the name you would greet the person by, and leaves out surnames, workplaces and addresses;
- carries no phone numbers, email addresses, links or anything that sells;
- is kind. Words that are unkind, coarse, threatening or sexual are gently handed back.
You keep the right to your own words. By posting a thank-you, you give YAMH permission to show it on the site, to send it to the person if you ask us to, and to keep it there for as long as it stands.
Sending A Thank-You To Someone
If you give us someone’s email, we send them one letter carrying your thank-you, and then their email is deleted. Please only give us an email for the person you are thanking, and only if you believe they would be glad to hear from you.
If A Thank-You Is About You
If you find a thank-you about you and would like it taken down, press Report on it and choose This Is About Me. It comes down straight away. Anything else that does not belong here can be reported the same way.
What We May Do
We may take down anything that breaks these terms, or anything we believe could hurt someone, without notice. We may change these terms from time to time, and the version on this page is the one that applies.
The Fine Print
YAMH is offered as it is. We do our very best to keep it kind, safe and working, but we cannot promise it will always be available or that every word written by others is accurate. These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.
